Government Policy /Regulatory Advise Consultancy services:

 

  • 1996 - Consultant to the Regulatory Reform Unit of the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning (DUAP) - providing expertise and advice in respect of  Building Code Of Australia (BCA), relevant building legislation applicable to the integration of Local Government Act and Environmental Planning And Assessment Act as well as the  introduction of private certification in the development of White Paper ;

 

  • 1997- As a consultant to the Regulatory Reform Unit of the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning (DUAP), I participated in the presentation of seminars throughout NSW dealing with issues arising from the release of the  White Paper regarding Integrated Approvals, relating to building legislation;

 

  • 1997- Guest speaker at seminar held by University of NSW regarding “Integrated Approvals Process”.

 

  • 1997-Assessment of aged care facilities throughout NSW for compliance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA), on behalf of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Family services for the purposes of building certification.

 

  • 1998 Appointed by the Director General- Department of Urban Affairs & Planning (DUAP), to provide expert advice with respect to private certification scheme introduced under EP & and Amendment Act and assess accreditation schemes submitted under such Act for report to the Minister of Planning. Provide expert advice in respect of BCA and related building legislation to DUAP regulatory reform unit.

 

  • 1998 presentations and workshops throughout NSW in conjunction with University of Technology Sydney & Department of Urban Affairs and Planning in respect of integrated approvals process dealing with building legislation and Building Code of Australia (BCA) issues.

 

  • 1998 Consultant to the Olympic Co-Ordination Authority – responsible for formulating Olympic Games overlay strategy regarding approvals process for temporary structures.

 

  • 1999 Appointed to the NSW Aged Services Association, NSW Building Committee, to provide expertise in respect of BCA and certification legislation in respect of aged care facilities;

 

  • 2005 & 2006 Presentation to Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (Crown) on Part 4 & 5A Approvals regime (Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979), including certification of building works, responsibilities of the building owner in terms of annual fire safety statements and maintenance of essential fire services.

 

  • 2008 Appointed to BCA/ fire safety consultancy panel for the Commonwealth Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

 

  • 2008 Consultant to the World Youth Day Co-ordination Authority

 

  • 2009 Appointed Independent Certifier to oversee redevelopment of “The Dig Site” (110 Cumberland Street The Rocks) - State significant - heritage listed site owner by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.

 

  • 2009 Consultant to Homebush Motor Racing Authority – Repco Rally Australia & Sydney Telstra 500 - V8 Super Cars event)

 

  • 2010  Presentation to Clisdell Strata Management Conference held at Polkolbin on Fire safety regulations, fire services maintenance and owners obligations to issue annual fire safety statement.

 

  • 2011 Presentation / work shop to Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority Management & Staff on new changes to BCA (2011) incorporating new Building Premises Standard & amendments to DDA Legislation.
